Biologic therapy, also called immunotherapy, which may help to restore the body's natural defences against cancer, and treatment for localized primary bone cancer.

The main ways to treat bone cancer are -

Surgery for Bone Cancer -

The goal of surgery is to remove the entire cancerous tumour. In most cases, this involves special techniques to remove the tumour in one single piece, along with a small portion of healthy tissue that surrounds it.

Radiation Therapy for Bone Cancer:

Radiation therapy uses high-powered beams of energy, such as X-rays, to kill cancer cells. Radiation therapy is often used before an operation because it can shrink the tumour and make it easier to remove.

Chemotherapy for Bone Cancer:

Chemotherapy uses strong anti-cancer drugs, usually delivered through a vein (intravenously), to kill cancer cells. However, this type of treatment works better for some forms of bone cancer than for others.

Targeted Therapy for Bone Cancer:

Targeted drugs are especially important in diseases like chordomas and other bone cancers, where chemo has not been very useful. They may prove to be a better treatment for these cancers.
